The restaurant ‘Donde Teresa’ pays homage to the exceptional career of Teresa Ocampo, who hosted a daily TV-cooking program for almost thirty years, becoming the most famous Chef of the prior generation.
Our kitchen is based on old family recipes such as locro de langostinos (shrimp in a puree of two pumpkins) or picante de camarones a la tacneña (shrimp Tacna-style in a spicy sauce), as well as artisanal dishes like fried whole-fish marinated in fine herbs or eight different tuna carpaccio’s.
The restaurant offers a superb view of the Pacific, five minutes South of Mancora at Las Pocitas, with specials based on the daily catch that are posted in the Chef’s blackboard. Among these creations, you can find ceviche of pez Diablo (devil’s fish), tuna tataki ceviche-style, sudado de loro (‘sweated’ rock fish) with mushrooms, linguini in wild mushroom sauce (hongos porcón)
Day and night, ‘Donde Teresa’ is available for banquets and special occasions with our Cordon-Bleu trained chefs, preparing chancho al palo (spit-roasted pork) a variety of paellas, or theme-inspired menus. The food is complimented by our bar that specializes in piscos (Peruvian brandies)--maracuyá (passion fruit) sour being the house drink—great music selection and the personal attention of the owners.
