Lima, Feb. 08 (ANDINA).- Peruvian boxer Kina Malpartida will defend her WBA super-featherweight world title in a fight to take place on May 1 at Miguel Grau coliseum in Peru's Callao port city.

Her coach and manager Victor Huertas said it was Kina who picked up the venue and date for the fight.

"She'll fight that day, although it is Labor Day. This is what Kina wanted: to give joy to all the Peruvian people," he said.

The name of Kina's rival will be announced in the next days.

Kina "Dynamite" Malpartida defeated Brazilian Alana Dos Santos and British Lindsey Scragg in her two previous title defense fights.
