Prime Minister visits Lambayeque to monitor El Niño prevention measures

Peru’s Prime Minister Javier Velasquez Quesquen. Lima, Feb. 08 (ANDINA).- Prime Minister Javier Velazquez Quesquen on Monday will hold a working meeting with the governor of Lambayeque region, Nery Saldarriaga de Kroll, to evaluate preventive measures to reduce the harmful effects of El Niño phenomenon.

The meeting will be held at noon at the headquarters of the regional government of Lambayeque.

The meeting will also be attended by the executive director of the Program for the Reduction of Vulnerabilities Facing the Recurring Event of El Nino (Preven), Cesar Vidal Garland, and Civil Defense representatives.

The chief of cabinet will hold similar meetings in Tumbes region at 8:00 am and in Piura at 10:00 am with the respective regional authorities.
